Sara Johnston is a committed community member with years of experience in youth program administration and international exchange. She has served in leadership roles within Rotary Youth Exchange, where she has helped coordinate impactful programs that promote global citizenship and student development. A Shoreview resident for the past 12 years, Sara is actively engaged in local civic life, recently became a member of the Arden Hills/Shoreview Rotary Club and is a participant in the Shoreview Leadership Academy. Known for her strong organizational skills, collaborative mindset, and dedication to service, she brings a thoughtful and energetic perspective to community leadership. In her free time, Sara enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and exploring the outdoors.

Preeti Mathur and her husband, Anoop, have lived in Shoreview since 1981. Both their children, Shruti and Sujan, attended District 621, Moundsview schools, where she was actively involved with the PTA and with Sujan’s Boy Scout Troop 609.

Preeti holds master’s degrees in journalism from Osmania University (India) and the University of Minnesota. She recently retired as an independent consultant working on technical writing and instructional design projects for several corporations. Currently, she writes for the Shoreview Press and has published a book for the Minnesota Historical Society (From Seven Rivers to Ten Thousand Lakes: Minnesota’s Indian American Community).

Preeti is a past Board Member of Minnesota Literacy and the India Association of Minnesota (IAM) and was the founding member of the School of India for Languages and Culture (SILC). She continues to volunteer in several activities that she is passionate about, and enjoys gardening, reading, crafting, and traveling.

Maria has been a resident of Shoreview, Minnesota since 1989, is the 1st of 3 generations in the Mounds View Public Schools system and has a strong connection to her community. She is a licensed real estate agent with Edina Realty, helping individuals and families find their ideal homes and navigate the complex housing market. In addition to her real estate career, Maria is an entrepreneur in healthcare administration consulting. Her innovative solutions and expertise are focused on improving the efficiency and quality of clinic operations. Her passion for real estate, dedication to community, and entrepreneurial spirit drive her to make a positive impact in the lives of those around her. Maria is always eager to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the betterment of our community. 

Charlie was born and raised in Shoreview, Minnesota. For as long as he can remember, he has always had an interest in public service and helping people out. He hopes to explore both of these aspects of himself through his position on the Shoreview Community Foundation. When he’s not serving on the SCF board or going to school, he enjoys bowling and talking with his friends. He looks forward to working on the SCF board as a student representative. 

Charlie Oltman and his wife, Susan, have lived in Shoreview since 1986. They have two adult children who live out of state. Charlie previously served two three-year terms on the Foundation Board, including five as Treasurer. 

 Charlie graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Finance and later earned an MBA from Metropolitan State University. Charlie spent most of his career in the Pharmacy industry, including 30 years at Target. Charlie served for 10 years on the board of a national pharmacy industry standards organization, including one year as Board Chair and the inaugural president of its foundation. 

 Charlie has enjoyed volunteering in and around the City of Shoreview, including as a current member and past Chair of the Shoreview Parks and Recreation Commission. Charlie is a member of the Arden Hills/Shoreview Rotary Club and is its past president. He participates regularly in monthly community service projects and currently serves as the Youth Exchange Officer. Charlie is also on his church's finance committee, volunteers at a Bridging warehouse, and serves as an Ambassador. 

 Charlie enjoys bike riding, exploring nature, books, poker clubs, and traveling.

Kent Peterson and his wife, Diane, have lived in Shoreview since 1974. They have 3 adult children and 11 grandchildren who are an important part of their lives. Kent was part of the founding Advisory Board of the Shoreview Community Foundation in 2008 and served as Board Chair from 2014 to 2016.

After graduation from the University of Iowa, Kent was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Public Health Service and served in the Indian Health Service. Later, he received a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Minnesota. Prior to retirement, he worked as a manager of public health programs and was a hospital and retail pharmacist.

Kent enjoys volunteering in city and non-profit activities. He was a member of Shoreview city committees for over 40 years including Chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission and Planning Commission. He was part of medical mission teams in Honduras and Tanzania and is currently Treasurer of Shoulder to Shoulder, a non-profit supporting a hospital and clinics in rural Tanzania. Kent enjoys native plant gardening, growing orchids, attending sports, especially basketball, and traveling.

Chris has lived in Shoreview with his wife and two children for more than ten years. He earned an MBA from Carlson School of Management and an MFA in Scene Design from UNC School of the Arts. Chris serves as the Executive Director of White Bear Center for the Arts, and has previously led Ashland Productions and Jungle Theater in Minneapolis. In his free time, he enjoys reading, fitness, hiking and board games with his family.
