North Suburban Chorus will offer performances for residents at 5 senior living facilities in Shoreview as well as one at the Shoreview Community Center

Shoreview Parks and Rec: ‘Rec on the Go’ boxes for children in Shoreview to use at home or bring to local parks that will encourage outdoor activity in the midst of recommended social distancing. Boxes will be delivered to families in need and also available for Shoreview residents to pick up at the Community Center.

Slice Of Shoreview Committee

Suburban Ramsey Family Collaborative: Fund the partnership with Mounds View Schools whose professionals on a daily basis support children, youth and families’ mental health and housing stability needs. This rapid response support connects staff, students and families to resources, networks and solutions to meet immediate needs. The need is great in 2020 as the COVID-19 puts communities, families and individuals at great risk.​

Tubman: Support youth violence prevention and leadership development programs for middle and high school students in Shoreview
Turtle Lake Elementary PTA: Funding for "A Playground for Everyone," an inclusive playground
YMCA:

  • Get Summer Program: Provide 400 teens in Shoreview a free summer membership and programming at the Shoreview YMCA
  • Fund emergency services at the Shoreview YMCA location for individuals and families impacted by COVID-19 including meals and child care services for children of essential workers.



An advisory board of Shoreview residents and friends annually selects non-profit organizations that serve the Shoreview community with programs focused in the following areas:

  • Recreational places such as parks and trails, as well as places for reflection and relaxation such as open spaces, wetlands and woodlands
  • Community enhancement and leadership development
  • Human services
  • Arts and cultural activities
  • Historical preservation


​Applicants are invited to submit a Grant Proposal describing the grant request.  Recipients are usually announced within two months after the end of the submission period.  There are two submission cycles in 2024.  The first cycle is March 1 through April 15 with decisions being communicated mid May.

The dates for the second grants cycle will be announced shortly.

Grant proposals should include a detailed description of the program, project, or service and must include the following information:


  • geographic area served
  • number or anticipated number of Shoreview residents served
  • amount requested, whether the proposed activity is possible if a partial award is given, and a complete line-item budget
  • how results will be evaluated
  • whether or not the organization has previously received a grant from SCF, and if so results from that grant
  • proof of organizational status [501c(3) or government entity]

CELEBRATING OUR ROOTS, GROWING OUR BRANCHES

Ramsey County Library & Shoreview Bikeways & Trails Commission will partner to provide four bike repair stations throughout Shoreview as well as pertinent videos and safety clinics.
Shoreview Historical Society will update, print and distribute an historical booklet with self-guided tour.
Midwest Special Services will continue their Adaptive Beekeeping Program, offer classes and partner with local groups.
Mounds View Schools will offer EmpowerU, a personalized, social-emotional learning program to high school students.
Northeast Youth and Family Services will purchase laptop computers to support their mental health programs.

In 2023 we were excited to conduct two grant cycles, rather than one.  We hope this will better meet the needs of organizations who do not have fiscal years that align with the calendar year.
