​Grant Process


An advisory board of Shoreview residents and friends annually selects non-profit organizations that serve the Shoreview community with programs focused in the following areas:

  • Recreational places such as parks and trails, as well as places for reflection and relaxation such as open spaces, wetlands and woodlands
  • Community enhancement and leadership development
  • Human services
  • Arts and cultural activities
  • Historical preservation


​Applicants are invited to submit a Letter of Intent describing the proposed grant request.  Letters should be submitted between Jan. 1 - Feb. 11 2022.  Full grant proposals will be requested upon committee review.  Recipients will be announced in late April.​2022

Grant letters may include a brief description of the program, project, or service and include the following information:


  • geographic area served
  • number or anticipated number of Shoreview residents served
  • organizational status [501c(3) or government entity]
  • whether or not the organization has previously received a grant from SCF, and if so results from that grant
  • amount requested


Grant awards are typically announced in April of the same year of application.

Mounds View Orchestral Association: Rock Orchestra support and tuning assistance

Mounds View High School Diversity Council: Sponsor a student-led multi-cultural festival open to the public at the high school

Mounds View High School Volunteer Service Club: Assist in its development and staffing

National Honor Society at Mounds View High School: Support a suicide and mental health awareness event sponsored by students

Northeast Youth and Family Services:

  • Comprehensive upgrade of its website
  • Help upgrade the Therapeutic Tools Library
  • Spatial improvements to the Trauma-informed Care waiting room

Pinewood Elementary School:  Fund Heart of Dance program which allows 120 students to access high quality social-emotional learning through dance instruction

Ralph Reeder Food Shelf:

  • Purchase a laptop computer to track services off-site and Community Food Drive Tool Kits
  • Fund furniture and food storage units and supplies for the new Mounds View location
  • ​Purchase a laptop computer to tack services off-site
  • ​Purchase, install and training of the shelf saver software / database

Scandia Shores Senior Living: Provide an educational series

Shoreview-Einhausen Sister City Association: Help host the community band from Einhausen, Germany

Shoreview Historical Society:

  • Repair windows on the Historic Guerin Gas Station
  • Frame historical photos at the library
  • Fund a history intern to create a strategic interpretive plan for Heritage Park and the Lepak/Larson House

Shoreview Northern Lights Variety Band:

  • Sponsor community Band Festivals in the Shoreview Commons

Slice Of Shoreview Committee:

  • Sponsor the performance by the Teddy Bear band at Slice of Shoreview
  • Help provide food and entertainment for Shoreview’s 60th birthday party at the Slice of Shoreview

​Tubman: Support youth violence prevention and leadership development programs for middle and high school students in Shoreview

Turtle Lake Elementary PTA: Funding for "A Playground for Everyone," an inclusive playground

​​Ralph Reeder Food Shelf: Enhance the organizations’ physical infrastructure and capacity to meet community needs and provide food and essential personal and baby supplies to help meet needs of those in the community impacted by COVID-19.
City of Shoreview Parks and Rec: ‘Rec on the Go’ boxes for children in Shoreview to use at home or bring to local parks that will encourage outdoor activity in the midst of recommended social distancing. Boxes will be delivered to families in need and also available for Shoreview residents to pick up at the Community Center.
Northeast Youth & Family Services: Provide funding for art therapy as part of mental health therapy program during day treatment and clinical services.
Suburban Ramsey Family Collaborative: Fund the partnership with Mounds View Schools whose professionals on a daily basis support children, youth and families’ mental health and housing stability needs. This rapid response support connects staff, students and families to resources, networks and solutions to meet immediate needs. The need is great in 2020 as the COVID-19 puts communities, families and individuals at great risk.
YMCA: Fund emergency services at the Shoreview YMCA location for individuals and families impacted by COVID-19 including meals and child care services for children of essential workers.

2019 Grants

Ramsey County Library & Shoreview Bikeways & Trails Commission will partner to provide four bike repair stations throughout Shoreview as well as pertinent videos and safety clinics.
Shoreview Historical Society will update, print and distribute an historical booklet with self-guided tour.
Midwest Special Services will continue their Adaptive Beekeeping Program, offer classes and partner with local groups.
Mounds View Schools will offer EmpowerU, a personalized, social-emotional learning program to high school students.
Northeast Youth and Family Services will purchase laptop computers to support their mental health programs.
