Advisory Board

Jennifer Anderson
Director of Foundations and Community Affairs for Deluxe Corporation.  She is  board member and officer for the Deluxe Corporation Foundation, the W.R. Hotchkiss Foundation and LDA of Minnesota.  She was on the charter committee for the Mounds View School District’s “Reading Buddies” program and continues to mentor students.  She is involved in Junior Achievement and various volunteer programs through Deluxe.

Peter Aplikowski
A Shoreview Realtor with RE/MAX Results.  Pete’s children attend Island Lake School in Shoreview.  He has extensive printing,design & website experience and will act as the domain host and webmaster until the foundation outgrows his abilities to provide what is needed or expected.
 
Mark Casci
A Shoreview resident for 50 years.  Owner/officer of family businesses:  Casci Decorators, M.A.C. Contracting Services, and G.E.M. Investments.  Mark has volunteered on several boards at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Shoreview, the Turtle Lake Homeowners Assoc., MV Youth Hockey, and is currently President of the Lake Region Hockey Association (fundraising for youth Hockey at Mounds View and Irondale High Schools).

Mary L. Hilfiker  (Vice Chair)
A long-time resident of Shoreview, Mary served on the Parks and Recreation Board and co-founded the Farmer’s Market in Shoreview.  She currently serves on the SV Historical Society Board.  She works at Hamline University. She serves on the Ice Age Trail and University of Wisconsin/Eau Claire Foundation Boards. Mary was named Shoreview Citizen of the Year in 2007.

Emy Johnson
Emy and her husband Scott have been Shoreview resident for 14 years.  They are raising their three children.  Emy works for Target Corporation where she has spent 21 years working on company initiatives related to Security and protecting the company brand.  In her role with Target she has worked to actively drive public/private partnerships with Law Enforcement.  She is a member of American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS).  She is an active member of St. Johns the Baptist Catholic Church serving in numerous volunteer functions.  

George Lang   (Treasurer)
A long time Shoreview resident and community volunteer.  George served on the Shoreview Planning Commission for 16 years.  He owns OVERLOOK REALTY INVESTMENT ADVISORS.  He has served on the investment committees of numerous organizations, including:  Catholic Community Foundation, Cretin-Derham Hall High School, Common Bond Communities, Church of St. Odilia, Shoreview Sister City Organization.  He retired from St. Paul Companies in 1997.

Sandra C. Martin
Mayor of Shoreview since 1996.  Sandy has been involved in public service since 1975.  She served 15 years on the Shoreview Planning Commission and 15 years on the City Council.  She is a co-founder of the St. Paul Urban Tennis Program, a non-profit serving inner-city youth in St. Paul.  She has also served on the Board of the Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic and co-chaired the annual Tournament in 1995.  

Janine Olmscheid
Janine and her husband, Tom, have been residents of Shoreview since 1976.  Their two adult sons were raised in Shoreview and graduated from Mounds View Sr. High School.   Janine is currently employed by the non-partisan Research Department of the Minnesota House of Representatives.  She is an active member of Gallery 96.  Formerly, she served as President of the Minnesota Family Business Council, and Director of Women in Family Business at the U of St. Thomas.  

Phyllis Ostergren
Moved with her family to Shoreview in 1964.  She has been a volunteer in many venues over the years.  Her children and grandchildren are also enjoying the benefits of living in Shoreview.  Phyllis has many contacts with long-time Shoreview families living on Turtle Lake.

Kent Peterson    (Secretary)
A resident of Shoreview for 34 years.  Kent has served on the Public Safety Committee, Bike and Trailways, Park and Recreation and many other task forces.  He has been involved with youth soccer, Norcroft Community Housing Corporation, a volunteer consultant for MAP and current Chair of the Clean Water Committee.  

Marsha Soucheray   (Chair)
 A resident of Shoreview since 1975.  She chaired the original Bicycle Advisory Committee that laid the groundwork for Shoreview’s successful trail system.  She also served on the Park and Recreation Commission and a member and President of the Friends of the St. Paul and Ramsey County Parks and Trails.  She was a member of the Shoreview City Council from 1990-1995.

Lucena Slaten
Lucena was born in St. Paul, and grew up in the suburb now known as Shoreview until 1960, returning in 1978 to present. As a retired employee of 40+ years in the airlines and awards for safety in the industry she continues her passion for travel and her focus on safety as a volunteer instructor with the National Safety Council.  She is also an active member on the Shoreview Historical Society Board

Cynthia Stange
Attorney, with a private practice in Roseville.  She has lived in Shoreview since 1972.  She has been an active volunteer in the school district, from chairing Island Lake carnival when her first child was in kindergarten, through chairing the 621 Foundation during its growth phase after her last child graduated.  She has served on other boards, including Lakeshore Players Theater in White Bear Lake; and is currently president of the Oratorio Society of Minnesota.  She was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Arden Hills-Shoreview Rotary Club for extensive community services.

Benjamin F. Withhart
Executive Director and CEO of Senior Community Services.  Chairman of the Board of Eldercare Partners, Board Director at the Gillespie Center, Friends of Southshore Center and Friends of H.O.M.E.  A member of the Leadership Council and the Council of Agency Executives.  Ben has been a resident of Shoreview for 22 years.  He served on the Shoreview City Council, the Planning Commission, the 621 Foundation, the Shoreview YMCA and many youth sports organizations.
